How it all began ...
Welcome to Stamping Street. My name is Sally and I am the face behind the scenes. I am founder, mum, wife, boss, cleaner and general dogs body here at Stamping Street. Living my dream and creating beautiful things every day.
We are a family run business, but it is most likely myself that you will chat to via email, or social media and it will definitely be me that makes your lovely order. Here's a little bit about how it all started ...
With very little money in my pocket but with high hopes, Stamping Street first opened it's virtual doors in April 2014 when I wanted to try a new craft whilst on maternity leave. I had always enjoyed crafts and worked part time as an Office Manager within a Legal Document Serving company. Restricted by maternity pay and with only a little money to spare for a few necessities, I picked up a hammer for the first time and instantly fell in love with the craft of metal stamping.
I shared a few of my first makes on Facebook and from the start, it proved to be a huge success. With hardly a chance to catch my breath, we were launched into a successful small business and I knew how lucky I was to be doing something I love so dearly. The time eventually came to return to the 'day job' when our youngest of three boys was 6 months old, however I juggled commitments and continued to run Stamping Street during the evenings and at weekends. With three children, two jobs and a supportive husband who worked shifts as a firefighter, life was not a walk in the park, but being fuelled with passion and driven by determination, we all found a way to make it work.
After 3 years of trading and working very hard, I took a huge leap of faith and now run Stamping Street full time. We ship all over the world with recent orders being sent to places like Sri Lanka, Israel, Haiti, Australia and New Zealand to name a few.
Being a mumpreneur has allowed me to work around other commitments. I am now free to go to school plays, look after my children when they are ill and take holidays when I want to. It's hard work and I still work most evenings and weekends. Some days I feel that I am just winging life and other days I feel like I am Wonder Woman, but I would always encourage you to aim high and reach for the stars because you never quite know where things may lead you.
