COPPER has a beautiful rich tone and is substantial in weight. Being one of the harder metals we use for hand stamping, this is a quality item.

 

We treat all of our copper to prolong the tarnishing process, however copper will tarnish over time. Tarnishing in copper is similar to rusting in iron. It's an electrochemical interaction between molecules on the surface of the metal and molecules in the surrounding air. Tarnishing can be delayed by avoiding contact with water, creams, chemicals etc. and can be restored to its original colour using various household products (methods can be found on the internet) or metal cleaning compounds such as Autosol which can be purchased at hardware stores, however the tarnishing of copper should not be necessarily seen as a flaw but more as a characteristic of the metal, as it adjusts to its surroundings. Copper tarnish is simply a natural ageing process which should not be frowned upon, and moreso desired, however we will provide a jewellery polishing cloth to assist with care if desired.
